Mortgage and Finance Information You Should Know:
The 4th of July holiday is over, and I’ve returned refreshed from a wonderful holiday. Hope you have too.
An Eastside update: The Venturettes, the embassadors to Rock & Roll are Rock’n again in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and rocked the boat with the Seafair pirates at the Pirates Landing at Alki Beach last Saturday kicking off Seafair for 2012. We will be attending the XXX Bike Rally Sunday July 15th in Issaquah, and of course Issaquah Salmon days in the fall.
Sunday I held an open house at a beautiful waterfront, true Cape Cod style Mercer Island home with incredible views of Mt Rainier and close to the beach club. To view this incredible home, click on the link below.

As for mortgage and financial information: Banks are coming out with more creative incentives to stimulate housing growth, especially for first-time home buyers, and it’s another great week if you are in the market for a new home or refinance your existing home. Interest rates are incredibly low, and banks and Mortgage companies are loosening up on their credit requirements. One positive indicator for housing was the 7.4 percent rise in home equity to $457.1 billion in the first quarter of 2012. On the downside, the impact of serious delinquencies and underwater mortgages continues to strain the housing market. One popular administration program for underwater borrowers is the Home Affordable Refinance Program (HARP). So far, HUD Acting Assistant Secretary Erika Poethig said almost half a million families have taken advantage of the program, and refinanced families save an average of $2,500 per year.
Mortgage rates continued to remain about the same this past week with a conforming 30 year fixed mortgage rates at 3.87%, a 15 year fixed mortgage rates at 3.13% and 5/1 adjustable mortgage rates at 2.96%, all available with 0.7 to 1% origination fee to the borrower.
